The delivery of another hundred vehicles powered by compressed gas for the rolling stock of the Belgrade public transport company GSP is expected by spring, of which 25 in February and March each, announced the mayor of Belgrade, Zoran Radojicic.

The aim, he emphasized, is for the entire bus rolling stock to be replaced in the next five to six years with ecologically acceptable buses.

He stated for the media that, from 2014 until then, around 700 buses had been bought and that around EUR 150 million had been invested in that period in the improvement of the public transport and the rolling stock of GSP, Beoinfo reports.

– A large number of the GSP buses has been replaced. By procuring new vehicles, we have put buses with Euro 2 engines out of use, and the aim is for buses using Euro 2, Euro 3 and Euro 4 engines to no longer be on our streets – the mayor emphasized and added that large investments were expected in the next period, in order to reach the targeted level in the sense of functionality, comfort and ecological upgrade.

Radojicic also added that the procurement of another 500 ecological buses was planned in the next five years, 100 each year, and that all 10 electric solo buses with the charging equipment had been delivered to Belgrade.
