Coca-Cola to Buy Serbian Water Producer Duboka
Allied Beverages Adriatic signed the agreement on the purchase of a share in Andjelkovic al on July 13, 2021, so, upon the finalization of the transaction, it will be under indirect control of Coca-Cola through its related companies Barlan Inc and The Coca-Cola Export Corporation.
ABA is the owner of the Rosa watermark and the carrier of the business in Serbia within which non-carbonated natural spring water is bottled and put on the markets of Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina and other markets, whereas Andjelkovic al is in the aluminum business, producing plates, sheets, pipes and profiles made of plastic at its production facility in Stara Pazova.
However, since 2017, when it bought the water filling factory in Neresnica near Kucevo, it has been producing both non-carbonated and carbonated natural mineral water, whose spring is located on the slopes of the Homolje mountains, under the brands Duboka and Deep.
In early 2021, to the end of selling its water business, Andjelkovic initiated a division of the company into two independent companies, separating the companies that will continue activities in the aluminum business and the rest of the company, meant to be sold, that has retained the natural mineral water business, with the related property and employees. Andjelkovic has no related companies in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The Competition Council of BiH has concluded that, in this case, there was no obligation of filing a notification of concentration, so it has dismissed the notification of Allied Beverages Adriatic, reports Poslovni.hr.
