BG Subway to Go to Petlovo Brdo, Vidikovac and Cerak Too – No Route Near Prokop or Clinical Center
– Unfortunately, the appeal for the line to pass through the Prokop railway station and the Clinical Center of Serbia has not been accepted – the citizens’ association says.
The request for the subway system to encompass the neighborhoods of Cerak, Cerak-Vinogradi, Vidikovac, Labudovo Brdo and Ptelovo Brdo is based, as they pointed out earlier, “on all the previous subway plans since 1976, based on which said neighborhoods were developed in the first place”.
– These are neighborhoods which were built under the assumption that a subway line would pass there and, for decades, all the infrastructure has been adapted to it. The feasibility for having a subway line pass through there already exists, and it will only be stronger as decades pass by, with the expected populace increase in the zone that this leg of the subway would cover. Also, it could be said that experience has taught us that a tram system is in no way an adequate substitute for a subway – the “Po meri metro” citizen’s association told eKapija.
