Reconstruction of Beogradjanka to be Completed by the End of the Year

The famous Beogradjanka building, which has been owned by Marera Properties since November 2020, is to open for the business community by the end of 2021 after only 12 months of intensive works on an all-encompassing reconstruction.

– There’s a great interest in A-class office space in the renovated Belgrade Palace. We can already say that nearly 70% of the space has been leased, and judging by the number of inquests by interested companies, we believe that by the completion of the works at the end of the year, the building will be filled out entirely – stated Milana Sreckov, the director of Marera Properties.

The full reconstruction of the Belgrade Palace – once the tallest building in the Balkans, the first smart building and one of the most important symbols of Belgrade – began last year. Marera is investing over EUR 8 million in the entire development of the interior from the fifth to the 23rd floor of the building, as well as the renovation of the façade, the replacement of the glass surfaces and the installation of external lighting.

– We are renovating the facilities in line with the latest world trends – in construction, technology and architecture. The best example is the already completed reconstruction of the Kalemegdan Business Center, the former Beko factory, which has been transformed from a dilapidated building into a modern, multifunctional business center where over 2,000 people work today. For example, at the Belgrade Palace, we will build green park areas on the spacious balconies of the building on the fifth and sixth floors. This is the kind of an innovation which has so far not been implemented in our market – Sreckov points out.

Parallel with the works on the reconstruction of the Belgrade Palace, the renovation of the BIGZ building, also owned by Marera since February 2021, started. According to the plan, the BIGZ building will be finished by the end of 2022.
