The price of electricity and gas in Italy has risen by as much as 40%!
According to estimates made by consumer associations, the price increase will cost an average Italian family between 500 and 700 euros a year. All Italian media report about this.
The latest price increase is justified by the increase in the prices of natural energy on the international market.
The final word on the price increase will be given by the state agency Arera, which determines the price of energy in the country on a quarterly basis, based on the situation on the international energy market.
Italy has very little natural energy and is almost entirely dependent on imports of gas, electricity and oil.
The announced price increase is the second one this year, since at the beginning of the third quarter, on July 1, natural gas and electricity prices increased by nine and 20%, respectively.
