Monthly inflation in August 0.9%, year-on-year 4.3%

In August 2021, inflation in Serbia rose by 0.9% on a monthly basis, and compared to the same month last year by 4.3%, the Statistical Office of the Republic of Serbia announced today.

Consumer prices increased by 4.6% last month compared to December 2020.

In August, compared to July, the prices of food and non-alcoholic beverages increased the most (2.0%, the prices of transport came second by 0.9%, then recreation and culture by 0.8, housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuel, furniture and current maintenance of the apartment by 0.4%).


Restaurants and hotel accommodation prices went up by 0.3%, alcoholic beverages and tobacco, healthcare and education by 0.2% each.

On the other hand, the prices of clothes and footwear fell by 0.8% on a monthly basis.

Prices of other products and services did not change significantly.
