Serbian Prime Minister Ana Brnabic has announced that additional tax exemptions for youth employment will be implemented from January 1, 2022.

At the session of the National Assembly where MPs posed questions to members of the government, Brnabic said, responding to a question by Akos Ujhelyi from the Alliance of Vojvodina Hungarians, that the exemptions were planned, among other things, due to the high unemployment rate in the populace.

– At the moment, tax exemptions for the employment of the young are planned, because there is a high degree of unemployment in that populace, slightly over 20% – Brnabic said.

Tax exemptions, Brnabic says, will be especially meant for the young which are to get their first job.

The prime minister says that the My First Salary program is going as planned and that there are talks with the minister of finance of Serbia, Sinisa Mali, for additional funds to be set aside and for the program to be expanded.

Also, the prime minister announced the reduction of taxes for investing in innovations and development in order to place additional focus on investments for added value.
