German "Metro" opened distribution center in Zemun

German company "Metro cash& carry" has opened the second distribution center in Belgrade and the biggest facility of that kind in Serbia. It occupies surface area of 12,730 square meters at the Novosadski put road in Zemun. German companies invested €20m in that center and employed 306 people from the territory of Belgrade. New wholesale center offers assortment of 20,000 articles, 70% of which are food products of local manufacturers and suppliers. In addition to the retail center for “professional buyers”, the facility also host the headquarters of that company in Serbia. On the occasion of the opening of new facility, the company donated two checks worth 400,000 CSD each to the representatives of the Clinic for children of Clinical Hospital in Zemun and the Center for accomodation and daycare of mentally disturbed children and youth in Belgrade. They will be able to spend that money on procurement of goods in the facility of "Metro’s".
