Serbia Exports Goods Worth USD 10 Billion from the Beginning of the Year – These are the Most Successful Products in Foreign Markets

The Statistical Office of the Republic of Serbia has announced that the value of exports, from the beginning of the year, amounted to USD 9.9 billion, which was 40.9% increase when compared to the same period last year, while the value of imports amounted to USD 12.7 billion, which was 29.9% increase relative to the same period last year.

Expressed in Euros, the value of exports amounted to EUR 8.2 billion, which was 28.3% increase, compared to the same period last year. The value of imports amounted to EUR 10.5 billion, which was 18.3% increase when compared to the same period last year.

The deficit amounted to USD 2.8 billion, which was an increase of 1.8% in relation to the same period last year. The deficit expressed in Euros amounted to 2.3 billion, which was a decrease of 7.5% compared to the same period last year.

The export - import ratio equaled 78.1% and was higher if compared to the same period last year when it was 72%.

The external trade in the reference period noted the highest level with the counties with which Serbia has signed agreements on free trade. European Union member countries account for 62.4% of total external trade.


Our second major partner refers to the CEFTA countries, since our gained surplus in external trade amounted to USD 979.7 million, resulting mainly from the exports of oil and oil derivatives, cereals and produces thereof, electrical machines and apparatus, iron and steel and road vehicles.

Our exports in the reference period amounted to USD 1.4 billion, while the imports were USD 500.6 million. The export– import ratio equaled 295.7 %. Expressed in EUR, exports amounted to 1.2 billion and imports to 415.5 million (surplus amounted to EUR 814 million and export – import ratio equaled 295.9%).
