Consumer Prices in Serbia Higher by 3.2% – Food Prices Increase the Most
Consumer prices in May 2021 increased by 3.6% in relation to May 2020. In May 2021 in relation to December 2020, consumer prices increased by 3.2%, on average.
Observed by main groups according to the destination of consumption in May 2021 in relation to the previous month, increase of prices was noted in the groups Food and non-alcoholic beverages (1,0%), Clothing and footwear (0.8%), Restaurants and hotels (0.7%), Transport (0.5%), Health (0.4%), Housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuels (0.3%).
Also, increase of prices was noted in the groups Alcoholic beverages and tobacco and Recreation and culture (each by 0.2%) and Communication (0.1%). Decrease of prices was noted in the group Furnishings, household equipment and routine maintenance of the house (-0.1%).
Prices of other goods and services mostly remained unchanged.
