EWVS plans to move its entire production from Europe to Svilajnac

The company Electric Works Vossloh-Schwabe Serbia (EWVS), which has been operating a factory in Svilajnac since 2010 and, with nearly 500 employees, represents the pillar of the municipality's economy, bought another hectare of land from it today, with the intention of expanding production there.

EWVS is engaged in the production of energy efficient electrical components for lighting fixtures in Svilajnac.

After signing the contract on land sale with the director of EWVS Dirck Bantel, the president of the municipality of Svilajnac, Predrag Milanovic, said that EWVS is not only the first, but also the largest partner in terms of size and number of employees. Milanovic also mentioned the partnership between EWVS and Svilajnac on numerous successful projects, such as the dual education system.

- They shared their experiences with us, which is very valuable - said Milanović. The plan is to move their entire production to Svilajnac. Bantel confirmed that the company plans to move all of its production from Europe to Svilajnac.

- We have had excellent cooperation with the municipality of Svilajnac in the last ten years and we notice how much this municipality has progressed - said Bantel and added that the business environment has changed, as evidenced by other foreign companies that have decided to invest in Svilajnac.

He added that he is satisfied with the work in the Svilajnac Free Zone and the overall logistical support.
