Purchase Price of Raspberry RSD 300 per Kilogram

According to the announcements, the purchase price of raspberries will be RSD 300 per kilogram this year.

The information from the field is that owners of cooling plants and purchasers are already offering agreements to producers on the purchase of this year’s harvest at said price, said Dobrivoje Radovic, the president of the Association of Raspberry Farmers of Serbia.

This is the highest price offered in the past two decades, which is over EUR 2.5, and the jump is due to the great demand for raspberries, due to the weaker harvest in Chile, lowering the quantities that will arrive to the European market. In general, this is good, but it is certain that, for the price of RSD 300, the purchasers will insist on fruit quality. Raspberry farmers are hoping for a good season as well. They all agree that a stimulating price is necessary, such as will cover the costs and allow the producers to profit.

This year, the state will subsidize all producers who want to change the seed material with as much as 90%. It is a great opportunity for raspberry farmers to profit more now that the demand is big, Radovic said. At a meeting with Branislav Nedimovic, the minister of agriculture, forestry and water management of Serbia, the good will of the ministry to help as much as it can was expressed. It was also noted that the possibility of the export of Serbian raspberries is now much greater and that it could be exported to Turkey, the United Arab Emirates and the Scandinavian countries.
