NLB Bank to Open IT Center in Belgrade
The bank said that the demand for experts in data, analyses, IT analysts and programmers had grown with the bank’s gradual digitization, but added that “we don’t have enough qualified staff in Slovenia”, the STA agency reported.
– We are competing for these experts with other Slovenian companies, as well as international companies, for which employees work remotely from Slovenia – said Vesna Vodopivec, the human resources manager at NLB Bank.
She said that the education system did not produce enough professional staff for these vacancies to be filled, whereas the high taxation of the labor made remote employment of workers more difficult.
– Without a serious progress in these fields, we will not be able to fill the vacancies fast enough, which is why we will be forced to transfer at least a part of the development capacities to Serbia – she added.
The center in Belgrade will have around 40 IT experts and data professionals, who will work on tasks for the bank, along with the programmers who already work from Slovenia.
Belgrade has developed into a tech hub since Serbia launched the Digital Project ten years ago and adapted its education system to it.
– It is not a coincidence that NLB Group has chosen Belgrade – the bank said.
