Construction of Bio Campus for Bioinformatics, Biotechnology, Biodiversity and Biomedicine, with a Capacity of 1,300 Students and Users, Planned Near Torlak

Along Vojvode Stepe Street, near the Torlak Institute and the Faculty of Pharmacy, in the cadaster municipality of Kumodraz, the plan is to build a bio campus.

The construction is envisaged in the Draft Amendments to the General Regulation Plan of the construction area of the seat of the local self-government unit – City of Belgrade, units I-XIX.

The campus will be built on an area of around 7.9 hectares and have an orientation capacity for a thousand university students and another 300 students-users at the student-standard institutions.

According to the plan by which the repurposing of the location, initially meant for complexes of special purpose, historical buildings and complexes, is being done, within the campus, various education programs in applied sciences, science-technology research, biomedicine, biotechnology, bioinformatics and biodiversity will be enabled (faculties, institutes, research centers, science-production units, innovation centers, science-technology parks etc.).

Also, within the Bio Campus, the Center of Veterinary Service of the Ministry of Defense is planned.
