Value of Export of High-tech Products from Serbia 15 Times Higher Compared to 2005
In the analysis, Nikolic says that the value of the export of high-tech products grew from EUR 77.4 million in 2005 to EUR 1.15 billion in 2020.
He says that, today, the export of high- and medium-tech products makes up exactly a third of Serbia’s export of goods, whereas, 15 years ago, it was only at 13.5%, making Serbia unable to compete with any European economy.
Three out of 18 products that make up the high-tech group generate 72.2% of their export in 2020, and those three products are rotating electric machines, thermal-ion electronic tubes and electric machines and devices.
Nikolic says that, in Serbia, there’s a high degree of production concentration in the export of the high-tech group, whereas, for the concentration in the export of medium-tech products, it can be said that it is close to the average of the countries observed in the survey – Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Germany, Croatia, Hungary, Poland, Romania and Slovenia.
Among the medium-tech products that Serbia exports are the equipment for the distribution of electrical energy, passenger cars and electric devices for power circuits.
