The company Centar za reciklazu d.o.o. Beograd has sent a request to the Secretariat for Environmental Protection to decide on the necessity of the environmental impact assessment for a facility for the handling of non-hazardous waste in the territory of the city municipality of Cukarica.

In concrete terms, the storage and the treatment of this kind of waste is planned in the industrial part of the Zeleznik settlement, in Tome Buse Street. The public may view the request until May 12.

– In carrying out this activity, there will no longer be waste waters or emission of harmful matters – the project developers guarantee.

According to the contents of the request sent to the secretariat, the focus will be on separating metal from non-metal waste, whereas paper and cardboard would be separated in line with the clients’ requests.

Only car tires will be picked up.

– The average amounts of waste at the facility will vary according to the procurement of the waste, the market conditions and the needs of the purchasers. The maximum planned daily capacity of the storage facility for the collection of non-hazardous waste is 50 tons. The expected annual amount of waste is 15,000 tons – says the documentation sent to the Secretariat for Environmental Protection.
