Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic today expressed his conviction that the construction of the Belgrade-Nis-Tabanovce railway, with the support of the EU, might start in the spring of 2022.

Vucic once again said that, thanks to the support of the EU, Serbia would save 700 to 800 million euros and called it an important thing for the country.

Let us remind that, in late April, it was announced that the EU was ready to support the construction of a railway between Belgrade and North Macedonia.

Vucic stated during his visit to Brussels that it had been agreed with EU representatives for a fast railway from Belgrade to Nis, but also from Nis, Leskovac and Vranje to Tabanovce, to the border with North Macedonia, to be built.

He specified that it would cost Serbia a maximum of 1.2 billion, because around 35-50% would be gifted by the EU.
