Geology Institute of Serbia Enables Use of Geological Research Data from Former Yugoslav Area

The Geology Institute of Serbia, in line with the separate Article 91 of the Law on Mining and Geological Research, is taking over the geological documentation from the Ministry of Mining and Energy with the obligation of taking care of and handling said documentation and the beginning of the provision of the service with the date of the coming into effect of the law (April 22, 2021), the institute announced.

– The fund itself contains precious results of geological research from the former Yugoslav area in the past 50 years. The geological documentation fund has over 6,000 documents (reports, studies) and around 21,000 general and special-purpose maps, processed and arranged data as per the location and the type of research – the press release says.

A fee of 5% of the value of the research is charged for the use of geological documentation. The right to the service, as said, belongs to all the legal and natural persons that have paid the fee for the use of the data and the documentation of basic geological research and that have signed an agreement with the Geology Institute of Serbia about the conditions and the manner of the use of the documentation.

It is added that, to use this service, a request for the use of geological documentation needs to be filed to the competent organ.
