– Considering that individual furnaces are among the major sources of pollution, we want to help residents of Nis switch to more ecological energy sources. We transferred the funds to the city, which will soon open a contest for the distribution of the subsidies to the citizens – the minister pointed out.
Vujovic reminded that, in Nis, the ministry was also carrying out a project of construction of facilities for the filtering of waste waters, worth EUR 50 million, which, as she said, is one of the most complex environmental protection projects that is financed from EU funds.
The minister added that another big project carried out by the Ministry of Construction, Transport and Infrastructure had been initiated in Nis, with the support of Chinese partners, namely, the repair and the expansion of the city landfill, with the aim of it becoming a regional center.
