Italian Company La Linea Verde Presents New Agricultural Supply Concept
Through this initiative, La Linea Verde illustrated the concept of short and integrated supply chain, which is required to constantly get high-quality raw material all year long.
Indeed, the mission of the Group is the introduction of its model of virtuous supply-chain, which was already successfully tested in Europe, by building strong partnerships with the agricultural companies distributed all over the Serbian territory.
– Giving certainty to gain trust is the key – states Domenico Battagliola, CEO of the Group La Linea Verde
Our partners grow and evolve with us, he added.
– Creating a supply-chain means building loyal relationships with our farmers, sharing with them our vision and objectives. As a matter of fact, our agronomists support our suppliers on a daily basis, showing them natural, innovative and more and more sustainable fertilising and farming techniques. In particular, following the Italian model, we have just introduced integrated and organic agricultural practices to get a high-quality, healthy and sustainable raw material – Battagliola said.
The successful supply-chain strategy adopted by the Group in Europe was then explained by Felice Poli, President of the O.P Sole e Rugiada, who emphasized that, in Italy, close relationships between the company and its suppliers brought to the foundation of the Organisation of Producers Sole e Rugiada, which today includes the farms that belong to La Linea Verde as well as 70 agricultural partners, reaching a total surface of 2,000 hectares.
During the event, Erich Cossutta, Member of the Presidency of Confindustria Serbia confirmed that Serbia really needs the model offered by La Linea Verde.
– Not only is the creation of a supply-chain a chance for Serbian farmers to get new economical opportunities and know-how, it is also necessary to boost and improve the agricultural sector of this country. For many centuries agriculture has driven the economy of Serbia. The project presented by La Linea Verde in this region can really help Serbian agriculture get back on track and compete equally with the other European countries – Cossutta concluded.
Aleksandar Bogićević, Advisor of the Ministry of Agriculture and other representatives from the Development Division of Ruma Municipality were also present at the event as a confirmation of La Linea Verde’s commitment towards Serbian territory, the press release says.
La Linea Verde Dobrinci is the Serbian hub of the Group La Linea Verde, important player with an experience of 30 years in the market of fresh bagged salads and reliable co-packer for more than 60 private labels in Europe.
Today the Serbian company reaches a production capacity up to 65,000 units of bagged salads per day and counts 100 collaborators, most of them from the Ruma region. Moreover, thanks to continuous industrial and agricultural investments, the company boasts a 140 hectares cultivation surface and state-of-the-art greenhouses in Serbia.
