Serbian Serology Covid Test to be Registered in April
At the end of the year, within the Kapsido project, financed by the Science Fund of the Republic of Serbia, a prototype of an antigen test should also appear, which is to be made much more sensitive than the current ones through further research and be able to detect coronavirus in an early stage, which is of crucial importance for the patients.
Professors and assistant professors at the Faculty of Chemistry in Belgrade, in cooperation with the colleagues from the Faculty of Agriculture and the INEP Institute, are working on these important projects, which are financed by the Science Fund and the UNDP.
Serbia is to develop an alternative and sustainable technology of detection of SARS CoV-2 virus, which will not depend on the global availability of PCR tests. Also, the results of these tests would be much quicker. PCR takes 12 to 24 hours, whereas these new tests should be ready in 15 minutes.
