Zastitnik Preduzetnika i Privrednika Srbije Association Requesting Salary Tax and Contribution Write-off

The Zastitnik Preduzetnika i Privrednika Srbije (Protector of Entrepreneurs and Business People of Serbia) Association has requested from the Government of Serbia a range of measures whereby the consequences of the decision of the Crisis Response Team on the ban on operations in certain fields would be mitigated, among which are salary compensations and tax write-offs.

– Considering another harmful, discriminatory, legally and scientifically groundless decision of the Crisis Response Team on the ban on operations of hospitality owners and other businesses, we request the application, in a summary procedure, of the Decree on the conditions and the criteria of harmonization of state aid for the purpose of mitigating serious disturbances in the economy, caused by the epidemic of the infectious diseases Covid-19 – the press release says.

They ask that taxes and contributions be written off for everyone unable to work as soon as possible, namely, hospitality facilities, playrooms, laundries, barbecue places, the tourist sector, event organizers.

The association also requests for business in those sectors to be compensated for all the fixed expenditures since the beginning of the pandemic, as well as 80% of the salary costs for 12 months. Among the requests are also the cancellation of parafiscal charges and the reduction of the VAT on food and drinks from 20% to 5% in the next two years.

– We also expect Mrs. Darija Kisic Tepavcevic to resign from all her functions due to conflict of interests, because her unprofessional activities within the Crisis Response Team jeopardize jobs, which runs counter to the function of the labor minister – the press release says.

The association requires the Crisis Response Team “to stop targeting hospitality owners as the biggest culprits, although they’ve implemented all the epidemiological measures, so as to divert attention from the factories and full buses and gondolas”.

The association says that they expect a report from the inspection service on the control of the measure “one person per 9 m2 in hypermarkets and public transport vehicles”.
