There are ten operating spas in the privatization portfolio, and the Ministry of Economy has prepared the draft law on the privatization of spas, the adoption of which is delayed due to the coronavirus pandemic, stated the assistant minister of economy, Dragan Ugrcic.

At the session of the Economy Board of the National Assembly of Serbia, he said that the idea was for the spas to be privatized and added that the draft law had been prepared with the colleagues from the Ministry of Health.

– We were forced to stop due to COVID-19. We now need to consider very carefully which spa can or cannot be privatized – Ugrcic said.

He added that the law was such that the privatization would require approval from the Ministry of Health.

Ugrcic said that, up till then, spas that don’t count as active healthcare institutions had been privatized.
