The Serbian-Chinese Industrial Park in Belgrade, an investment which aims to attract high-tech companies from China and the whole world, is close to being realized – the cabinet of the minister without a portfolio in charge of innovations and technological development has opened a tender for the preparation of a spatial plan for the special-purpose area for this project.

According to the text of the tender, the preparation of the spatial plan will create the planning foundation for a direct execution of the project through the issuing of the location requirements.

– For the purpose of the planning of the Serbian-Chinese Industrial Park, so far, the Business Plan and the Feasibility Study, as well as the preliminary concept of the organization of the space, have been prepared, the purposes, the required capacities of the complex and the phases of the realization have been defined, and the preparation of the special-purpose area Spatial Plan is the next step based on which the industrial park is to be built – the tendering documentation says.

The project of the Serbian-Chinese Industrial Park, for which agreements between the Government of Serbia and China Road and Bridge Corporation (CRBC) were signed in 2019, envisages the construction of an industrial zone of around 400 ha in Belgrade, on the left coast of the Danube, near the Zemun-Borca bridge.

As defined in the technical specifications of the project, the park will have three zones: the International Commercial Center which will feature a market for the exchange of goods, logistics and storage centers, restaurants and a shopping center, retail stores etc; the Industrial Park as the largest zone on 247 ha, which entails the construction of industrial facilities, warehouses, office buildings, residential spaces, auxiliary features and a park management building; and the High-Tech Park, which will feature business buildings for the development of high technologies, business-administration spaces and accompanying features such as restaurants and retail outlets.

The preparation of the special-purpose Spatial Plan also entails the preparation of the Report on the Strategic Assessment of the Environmental Impact.

The estimated value of the preparation of the spatial plan of the future industrial park is RSD 27 million. Bids may be submitted by April 7, and other details of the tender can be found HERE.

According to the announcements, the Industrial Park, which will be named after Mihajlo Pupin, will employ 15,000 people, and the total investment amounts to EUR 247 million.
