Serbian Construction Minister Tomislav Momirovic announced during his visit to Nis that EUR 20 million would be invested in the Nis Airport in 2021 and 2022 and that the works on the construction of the new airport building would begin in the summer.

– The works on the airport building are to start in the summer and the traffic will not be stopped at any moment, because the works are to be carried out parallel with it. The new building is to be done first, and the existing part of the building is to be reconstructed following that – Momirovic said while visiting the Constantine the Great Airport.

He announced that the construction of the new control tower of the SMATSA at the Nis Airport would begin in October or November.

– I expect us to have a whole new, phenomenal airport in the next two years, and the citizens of Nis will then be able to enjoy the full benefit of their city’s airport – Momirovic emphasized.
