Strategy of Scientific and Technological Development of Serbia Adopted – New Science-Technology Parks, Centers of Excellence and Institutes to be Founded
The strategy aims to enable the acceleration of Serbia’s development and the country’s integration into the European research space through the upgrade of the science-technology and innovation system. Investments in new science-technology parks, centers of excellence and institutes are planned as well.
– The strategy of Scientific and Technological Development enables the continuation of the reforms initiated in this field and brings measures which will secure the necessary conditions for a dynamic development of science, research and innovations – said Serbian Minister of Education, Science and Technological Development Branko Ruzic.
Additional strengthening of scientific research institutions and investments in infrastructure are planned as well, so that these institutions would be recognized on the regional and the European levels and be capable of solving complex problems on their own.
The preparation of the strategy and the consultations involved representatives of the Serbian Academy of Sciences and Arts, the National Council for Scientific and Technological Development, the Association of Institutes of Serbia, the Conference of Universities of Serbia, the Science Fund of the Republic of Serbia, the Innovation Fund, the Center for Promotion of Science, the Science-Technology Park Belgrade and other reputable researchers.
An integral part of this strategy is the Action Plan for its implementation over a three-year period (2021-2023), according to the press release.
