A facility of the company PEPO Energy, which will produce electricity from renewable energy sources, has been put into operation in Novo Milosevo by Serbian Mining and Energy Minister Zorana Mihajlovic.

The facility uses biomass as the main raw material for the production of biogas which generates electrical and heating energy.

Simply said, pumpkin pulp and grain residue are stored in silos and subsequently turned into electrical energy with the help of generators.

PEPO Energy, a joint venture of MET Group and the local company Arhar Teh, has built a 100% ecological facility for the production of energy with a capacity of 1.2 MW in Novo Milosevo.

After the facility started producing its first kilowatts, Mihajlovic said that EUR 5 million had been invested in it and that 30 people would be employed thanks to it.
