NIS CEO Kirill Tyurdenev has announced that the company will invest more than RSD 20 billion in development projects in 2021.

– We will invest in all the main areas of our business – research and production, processing and modernization of our retail network. We will focus on the most profitable projects in Serbia and the region – Tyurdenev said in an article he wrote for the Newsletter of the National Oil Committee of Serbia.

As one of the key projects to be realized this year, he highlighted the commissioning of the Thermal Power/Heating Plant Pancevo, which NIS is building in partnership with Gazprom Energoholding.

The CEO of NIS said that the year 2020 had been extremely challenging due to the sudden drop of the price of oil and the circumstances related to the COVID-19 pandemic, pertaining, among other things, to the considerably reduced demand for oil and oil products.
