Nikola Tesla Airport Serves 1,904,000 passengers in 2020
According to the press release, the number of commercial flights in the final quarter of 2020 amounted to 8,198, which is nearly half the amount from the same period in 2019, whereas a total of 33,622 commercial flights were recorded in 2020, which is 52.2% less than in 2019.
– This result is a consequence of the strict restrictions pertaining to travel, which have been implemented globally to support the fight against the spreading of COVID-19 – the press release says.
Due to the global health crisis, passenger traffic within the VINCI airport network was reduced by 70% in 2020, with nearly 76.6 million passengers served, compared to 255 million in 2019.
The airports of this parent network with seats in Europe and Asia, where the measures were the most restrictive, reported a bigger drop in traffic, around 72%, compared to those in America, around 61%, it is added.
