VUCIC: I reject requests for a free Sunday
– Sunday can’t be a free day. I won’t let it happen. Those who don’t want to work on Sunday can leave for other countries – he said.
Vucic believes the country can’t afford it and that “we should work more”.
Let us remind that, in early 2020, trade unions had several talks with the Ministry of Trade about implementing a free Sunday. At certain points, it seemed that this could come to pass. The ministry even formed a task force and talked to trade unions on several occasions.
In early February, the state, according to official announcements, was supposed to present its position. According to estimates at the time, there were several options. The most realistic one was for stores to be closed on the first Sunday of the month, or on the first and the last one.
