The airline carrier flydubai (FZ) has introduced a fifth weekly flight on the line between Dubai (DXB) and Belgrade (BEG). The company’s airplanes on flights to and from Belgrade are recording some of the biggest occupancy rates in this period of coronavirus crisis, and an increase in the demand for trips to Dubai is noticeable, especially since the end of October, when the entry into this emirate within the UAE was made easier.

The new, fifth flight was introduced on December 22, 2020. The flights will be carried out on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays.

flydubai relaunched its flights to Belgrade on July 4, 2020, after a break of several months due to the ban on air transport placed by the Serbian aviation authorities as part of the measures toward the prevention of the spreading of coronavirus. Initially, there were two flights a week, and as the demand rose and the measures were loosened, the number of the flights first rose to three, then four, and now five flights a week.

As the Aviatica portal has learned, the plan is for the company to return to its regular flight schedule in the 2021 season, which starts on March 28, which entails daily flights. Furthermore, the traffic is expected to increase in the summer months, when there will be two flights a day on certain dates.

A great majority of passengers on these flights have Dubai as their final destination, whereas Zanzibar comes second and Maldives third.

In addition to Belgrade, in the region, flydubai only has flights to Sarajevo at the moment. That line, just like the one to Belgrade, is very successful in the conditions of coronavirus. With three flights a week, the plan is for this line to become a daily line when the summer flight schedule starts.

Flights to Skopje have been suspended and it is not yet known when the traffic to this city will be relaunched, but it is expected to be reinstated with the summer flight schedule.

Flights to Zagreb have not started either, but the company confirmed earlier that the they would relaunch the traffic on this line in early May instead of the partner airline carrier Emirates, which will no longer send its planes to Zagreb. According to the preliminary plan, the flights would be carried out four times a week and then become daily flights at a later date.

New lines

Unlike many other airline carriers, flydubai has announced new lines. Flights to Grozny (Chechnya, Russia) and Salzburg (Austria) are planned, and the taking over of the lines to Malta and Zagreb from the partner airline carrier Emirates is planned as well.

Return of 737 MAX to the fleet

In the upcoming period, flydubai expect the 737 MAX airplane to be brought back into operation, and all the further plans for maintaining the existing network of lines and introducing new ones, as well as an additional increase of the flights, depend on how fast this aircraft will return to use.
