The private company Minacord Media, owned by singer Zeljko Joksimovic and a co-owner of the K1 TV station, Manja Grcic, is buying the Tanjug Press Agency, as unofficially learned by Newsmax Adria.

Tanjug refused to either confirm or deny this information for Newsmax Adria, and Manja Grcic responded in a message for this channel that it was not a purchase of Tanjug and that more would be known about the transaction 7-10 days later.

Minacord Media owns several cable channels which are broadcast within Telekom’s distribution network.

The Tanjug Press Agency was supposed to stop operating by decree of the Government of Serbia on October 31, 2015. According to that decree, the deletion of Tanjug from the register of the Business Registers Agency was supposed to be initiated by the authorized person after the repayment of the remaining debts. Five years later, this has not happened.

The Privatization Agency has organized two public calls for the sale on Tanjug. Both were pronounced unsuccessful as there were no interested buyers.
