The architectural-urban planning contest for the preparation of the full project of the future Belgrade Philharmonic in the Usce location opened this month. At the request of the Government of Serbia, the new contest will be backed by the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) with the presence of representatives of the Government of Serbia and the City of Belgrade.

The process of the selection of the best design will be carried out in two stages, the pre-qualification stage and the qualification stage. Both should take around 18 months. The big international contest for the construction of the Belgrade Philharmonic building could be attractive to well known world architectural studios, and the submitted designs will be assessed by an international jury.

The maximum award for the full project, from the preliminary design to the final project, is around EUR 10 million, whereas the value, including the realization, is estimated at EUR 120 million.

In the first phase of the contest, 6-8 teams will be shortlisted for the finals. All applicants that meet the qualification requirements and enter the second phase will get an award of EUR 20,000, whereas the best team will get an opportunity to sign a valuable contract.
