Energy Agency of Serbia Approves Use and Access to Crossborder Capacities for 2021 – Agreements Signed with Operators in the Region
According to the agency’s press release, agreements were signed between the operator of the distribution system of Serbia and the operators of North Macedonia (MEPSO), Bulgaria (EAD), Romania (Transelectrica), Hungary (MAVIR), Croatia (HOPS), Bosnia and Herzegovina (NOSBIH) and Montenegro (CGES).
– The organization of joint auctions enables a more efficient use of cross-border capacities, in line with the European regulations. The implementation of these agreements increases the possibilities for system users and upgrades the conditions for the development of the electricity market in Southeast Europe and its integration into the European market – the agency says in its press release.
Joint auctions on these borders are organized since 2012, beginning with the Hungarian border, all the way up to 2019, when this kind of distribution was established on the Montenegrin border.
Each year, the agreements are updated in line with the acquired experience in implementation, regulation changes and development of computer platforms used by the system operators.
For 2021, the deadlines for the registration of the participants in the distribution of the capacities are extended, the sending of electronic invoices to the participants is enabled, and the upgrade of the allocation platform for the distribution of annual and monthly capacities ensures the allocation of those capacities to the full extent.
