Preparation of National Classification of Vocations Begins

The preparation of the National Classification of Vocations (NSKZ), where the Serbian Association of Employers is involved in the activities of the working group formed by the Ministry of Labor, Employment, Veteran and Social Policy, has begun, the Association claims.

– The further steps in establishing NSKZ entail the development of a methodology for the development of vocation standards, as well as the updating of the translations and harmonization with the new list of vocations of all groups, types, sub-types and sets within ISCO-08 – the Association says.

Simply said, the vocation (a set of jobs with mutually related activities and tasks), the competences (knowledge, skills, abilities and positions) and the qualifications (education/qualification levels) will comprise the standard of a vocation.

– Within this methodology, elements of the vocation standard, their meaning and processes of development are determined and described. Furthermore, the methodology provides an explanation on the sources of the data on vocations, the method of data collection, the question lists for carrying out research on vocations, the manner of carrying out research in the field, analysis and systematization of collected data and the procedure of preparation and valuation of the full vocation standard – the Association says.

The methodology also covers the plan of activities of the development of the vocation standard.

The project From Education to Employment – E2E supported the preparation of this methodology as part of the activity: “Development of Methodology for Establishing Vocation Standards in the Republic of Serbia”, envisaged in the project document.
