Nine Hungarian Companies to Invest EUR 75 Million in Serbia

Hungary has supported nine of its local companies with EUR 25 million in order for them to invest in Serbia, it was said at a meeting between Serbian Finance Minister Sinisa Mali and Hungarian Foreign Affairs Minister Peter Szijjarto.

Szijjarto pointed out that the value of the total investments would by three times as high, that is, between 75 and 80 million euros.

As the ministry announced, the companies will invest in logistics centers, pharmaceutical industry, fruit processing and metal processing industry, mostly in Central and South Serbia.

When it comes to Vojvodina, the Project of of Economic Development, which entails support to small and medium enterprises, will continue there.


The two ministers also talked about the cooperation of Serbia and Hungary on large infrastructure projects, with a special focus on the modernization of the railway between Subotica and Szeged, which is a key project for the populace of that area.

As agreed, all the necessary activities for the construction to start as soon as possible will be carried out in the shortest amount of time, so that everything would be completed by mid-2022.
