Sebastian Sosa, the IMF Resident Representative in Serbia, says that electricity price increase in Serbia should take into consideration the potential impact on vulnerable households and potential measures of their protection.

In his interview for Politika, Sosa said that the IMF had incited the Serbian authorities to evaluate the price of electricity in order to ensure a full return on the costs.

This, he adds, includes the costs of increased reliance on renewable energy sources and the needs for investments in order to protect the production capacities.

– Considering the potential social impact of the increase of the price of electricity, the potential impact on vulnerable households and potential measures for their protection should be taken into consideration – Sosa said.
