Six Student Scholarships of Euro for Knowledge Foundation Awarded

The Managing Board of the Euro for Knowledge Foundation has adopted the decision on the awarding of six student scholarships for the school year 2020/21 to the best students that have applied to this year's contest, eighth in a row.

In August, the Euro for Knowledge Foundation opened the contest for the awarding of five student scholarships in the amount of 100 thousand dinars each for the school year 2020/21,. but, due to a slightly larger inflow of funds, it then decided to award six, two of which to students of mining engineering, in line with the preference of the Foundation's donor, the mining company Mineco.

The scholarships, which are non-repayable and which are to be paid in 10 monthly installments, have been awarded to:

Nebojsa Brezic from Belgrade, a fifth-year student at the Faculty of Medicine in Belgrade, average grade 10, who has been recognized as the best student in the previous four years of study and is the author and a co-author of several research papers;

Marija Grujic from Belgrade, a third-year student at the Faculty of Music Art in Belgrade (Classical Guitar Department), average grade 9.48, recipient of over 50 awards in solo and duo categories at contests in the country and abroad;

Darko Golubovic from Sabac, a fourth-year student at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering in Belgrade, average grade 9.83, and

Milan Djordjevic from Svilajnac, a fourth-year student at the Faculty of Biology in Belgrade, average grade 9.78, participant in research projects.

The two scholarships provided by Mineco, the Foundation's donor for the fifth year in a row, have gone to:

Radica Pavlovic from Crnajka (Majdanpek), a fourth-year student at the Technical Faculty in Bor / Mining Engineering / Preparation of Minerals (University of Belgrade), average grade 9.39, and

Natasa Raic from Surcin, a fourth-year student of the Faculty of Mining and Geology in Belgrade / Mining Engineering / Underground Exploitation of Mineral Sites module, average grade 8.59.

Also, thanks to the higher inflow of funds, the Managing Board of the Foundation decided to award a sixth high-school student scholarship as well, so the list of the recipients, the decision on which was made earlier, has been expanded to include Djordje Tomic from Brus, a student at the Mathematical Grammar School.

A total of 35 applications were sent this year.

The Managing Board of the Foundation congratulated all the students and expressed its conviction that they would fully justify the trust given to them and become experts that the Foundation would be proud of.

The award ceremony will not be held this year, considering the ongoing epidemic, but the contracts with the recipients will be signed as soon as possible, so that the payments could start immediately.

The Euro for Knowledge Foundation was established in Kosjeric in 2013 as a foundation of citizens who aid the education of the most talented young people from Serbia through their voluntary contributions.
