With ultra quick simulator you can test any electric unit - from washing machine to electric train. Its authors say it is even 50 times faster than the next fastest similar device in the global market. Tajfun's digital real-time simulator significantly shortens and facilitates the process of software testing in the area of electrical engineering. That ultra quick simulator is made by a team of young scientists who want to appear in the global market in accordance with the name of the company they formed. Their aim is to take the leading position in the field of quick simulators for the energy sector.

Due to high speed of calculation, Tajfun's easy-to-use simulator, which is of the size of a small box, can be used for the first time for the tests that have, so far, been possible only in well-equipped laboratories. That means that engineers do not have to test each new instrument or an improvement on a device live any more. Instead, almost all tests, except for the final ones, can be performed on the simulator.

Tajfun for Asian tigers

- The energy electronics represents the bloodstream of the industry and we want to accelerate its development, which is quite expensive. Our simulator saves money, energy and time and reduces the danger that engineers in a laboratory are exposed to – MA Marko Vekić, the Development Engineer in Tajfun, says in the interview for eKapija.

The simulator of that Novi Sad-based company can equally simulate the drive of an electric locomotive, a wind turbine or a washing machine. The higher the power of the drive, the bigger savings are made when the simulator is used.

- Thanks to our simulator, it takes much less time for engineers to develop and then offer the market more energy-efficient and cheaper devices. We give the energy engineers a powerful weapon in the fight against the energy crisis - Vekić points out.

The company is still focused on the foreign market. Certain number of their users come from the industry, while people in Tajfun expect major breakthrough in the areas of renewable energy sources, energy efficiency and electric transportation due to strong development of these areas. The second group of users are academic institutions around the world that use the device of the Novi Sad-based company in education and research work. People in Tajfun plan to cooperate with Serbian technical faculties in the future by, among the rest, donating the simulators to them.

So far, the company has been exporting ultra quick simulators to the markets of Asia, America and Europe.

- We find the market of Asia interesting because they do not have the established procedure for testing new products. Asian countries are willing to invest in the developing innovations. We offer them new solutions that enable them to catch up with the West and save time and money without opening expensive laboratories – says Vekić.

Companies Delta United Instrument Co in Taiwan and Enerdrive in Switzerland and the MIT University in the USA have already acquired the ultra quick simulator. People in Tajfun say that they are negotiating on the delivery of simulators with Spanish company Trainelec, as well as with several leading companies in the area of energy electronics.

Marko Vekić says that the price of the ultra quick simulator depends on its functions.

- For the universities that use the simulator for educational purposes, the price equals the price of a strong PC, while the price for industrial users depends on the functionality and amounts to few thousand euros and more - says Vekić.

He points out that they now work on upgrading the simulator and introducing additional functions, as well as on designing a new instrument that will have larger number of practical industrial applications.

- We want every energy electronics development engineer and every technical institution to have our simulator on their desks, just like they have computers.

Recognizable by energy efficiency

- Our idea is completely different. We are making a multinational company with the headquarters in Serbia to gather experts from the various areas around single product. Our aim is to attract experts from Serbia and Diaspora, as well as foreign scientist – says Vekić and adds that they already have development teams in France, Switzerland and the USA.

That team of young experts from the Faculty of Technical Sciences in Novi Sad and their colleagues from MIT in Boston won the state competition for the best technological innovation in 2009 with that device. Tajfun also won the 2010 Aurea award for the best innovation, which is granted by business portal eKapija.

- We are making a good progress towards realization of the goal. Every time a new product or a technological innovation is launched, the companies that should use it are reserved, but all the hesitating about the use of our simulator disappears once we present all its direct and indirect values – says Vekić.

He says that they did not ask the state for help, but that the help would mean a lot to them because they would reach the goal sooner.

- We put big effort and firmly believe in what we do because it is the only way for us to achieve exceptional results. We will reach our goal eventually. We could now use some help in the form of an office space – says Vekić.

Our aim is to put Serbia on the energy map of Europe and the world in association with several other domestic successful companies.
