The mayors of Belgrade and Ljubljana, Zoran Radojicic and Zoran Jankovic, have signed a letter of intent which defines an initiative for the development of a high-speed railway between Central and Southeast Europe.

The letter of intent will be forwarded to the European Commissions and the governments of Austria, Italy, Slovenia, Croatia, Serbia, Bulgaria and Turkey, Beoinfo reports.

– The pandemic that has affected the whole world has presented cities and states with new challenges related to planning, construction and traffic maintenance. Urban mobility and green hierarchy in transports, that is, ecologically acceptable, but fast and comfortable transport, are priorities for us all – Radojicic said and added that similar efforts were to follow and that he was satisfied that the good cooperation enabled a proactive approach to future challenges.
