New Sale of Sava Centar – Initial Price Once Again Lower by 20%
As said, the purchaser obliges to carry out construction and finishing works on the adaptation and reconstruction within five years, and the value of the works cannot be lower than EUR 50 million. The purchaser will also oblige not to change the purpose, that is, to keep Sava Centar in the function of congress tourism, considering that it has the previous protection status.
In signing the agreement with the purchaser, a penalty of 20% of the achieved sales and purchase price will be agreed in case the purchaser fails to meet the obligations taken fully or partially and to provide a first-class banking guarantee as a security for a potential payment of the agreed penalty.
The artworks and the historical works and the movable and immovable cultural goods in the facility are not subject to the sale.
Eligible bidders are all natural and legal persons that submit full bids by November 6, 2020. A participant in the procedure must pay a deposit of EUR 1,754,880 in dinar countervalue at the middle exchange rate of the NBS on the day of the payment.
The public bidding will be held on November 9, 2020.
Let us remind that, after the recent unsuccessful sale, the deputy mayor of Belgrade, Goran Vesic, announced that the City of Belgrade was able to use the legal possibility of lowering the price by 20% only once more, which has been done now.
Sava Centar was recently offered at a tender for EUR 21.9 million.
Earlier sale attempts
Let us remind that the sale of Sava Centar was announced in November 2019. The city first started looking for a partner in 2016, when a public invitation for the founding of a joint company opened.
A new public invitation opened in late 2017, when the potential partner was expected to renovate the congress and general infrastructure of the center.
The City of Belgrade and Delta started direct negotiations in mid-2018, which were unsuccessful. It was soon announced that a concessionaire would be sought for Sava Centar.
No bids were sent during the previous tender, which opened in August 2020.
Delta Holding is interested in purchasing Sava Centar, under, as they told our portal, “economically acceptable conditions”.
