Automobile factory Priboj negotiates with European truck manufacturers

- In addition to the negotiations with Chinese automobile company Dong Feng, Automobile factory Priboj (FAP) plans to start negotiating with another potential partner, and the interest has already been expressed by certain European truck manufacturer - Mirko Stojović, the CEO of FAP, said at the Belgrade Fair.

Stojović said at the press conference at the Exhibition of commercial vehicles that they had already addressed the authorized ministry and asked for the negotiations to start.

He said that the cooperation with the Chinese went as planned and that Dong Feng's first truck was expected to be assembled in Priboj at the end of the year, but he added that FAP would continue its previous production of trucks and buses.

The CEO announced that the plan was that 50 vehicles be produced every month because the sales were backed by the Government's program of subsidized loans and the application of the "old for new" principle. The company exhibited chasses for public utility trucks of 18 tons with Euro5 engine of 300 horse powers (HP), remote door opening and window lifting mechanisms and air-conditioning system at its booth.

The second exhibit is heavy building tipper with the capacity of 41 tons, engine Euro5 of 400 HP and four axes. The company also presented a low-floor bus that can be bought with the subsidized loans.

Stojović said that FAP can also manufacture the buses powered by natural CNG gas (methane).

An innovation in the product portfolio is the truck for the Army of Serbia. The company has already made five prototypes with two axes, while the production of those with three and four axes will start later.
