Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic has stated that Serbia has asked the EU to provide 50% of the grant for the construction of the Belgrade-Nis high-speed railway and pointed out that, if they decline, the railway will be built together with China's CRBC.

After the signing of the agreement on the construction of the Fruska Gora Corridor with the Chinese partner, Vucic said that the company had given a good offer for the construction of the high-speed railway from Belgrade to Nis, Tanjug reports.

He pointed out that the investment was worth EUR 2 billion and that the railway would be designed for a speed of 200 km/h. Vucic added that it would take an hour and 15 minutes to travel between Belgrade and Nis.
