Mecafor Developing Production in Kikinda – Employment of 180 Workers Planned

The French factory Mecafor in Kikinda is back to working at full capacity, said the director, Nebojsa Nedeljkovic, during the visit of the mayor of Kikinda, Nikola Lukac, advisor to the Serbian president for foreign investments, Marko Pecanac, and the member of the City Council for the economy and investments, Sasa Tanackov.

The factory currently has 110 workers, and the employment of another 180 is planned in the next three years. Nedeljkovic didn't exclude the possibility of it happening sooner and added that the construction of a new facility, which takes up around 3,500 m2, had been completed not long before, according to the city's website. Nedeljkovic specified that it was an investment worth around EUR 3 million.

– Components for the aviation industry are produced at the new facility. We are very proud of this segment of our business, because we are no longer working just for the automotive industry. We used state aid during the covid crisis. It helped us a lot, because in March, April and May we realized only 30% of the planned production – Nedeljkovic said and added that they had also used subsidies provided by the Autonomous Province of Vojvodina before.

Mecafor launched production activities in Kikinda in 2016.

– From the initial 45 workers, this factory now employs 110 people, and that's not all, as we've learned. We are ready to be an honest and reliable partner to this company as well. We have that kind of relation with all local and foreign entrepreneurs. We are ready to cooperate with everyone who wants to invest here. Mecafor is not just here to make profit. It is a very socially responsible company as well – Lukac underlined.
