The Mission of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) will hold online meetings with the Serbian authorities between October 5 and 16, and as the IMF and the Ministry of Finance of Serbia told Tanjug, the topics at the meetings will be the assessment of the current financial situation in the country, the potential continuation of the arrangement with that financial organization, but also the 2021 budget.

This is the final mission within the current arrangement that Serbia has with the IMF, which was signed in July 2018 and which entails advisory, not financial help.

The Ministry of Finance told Tanjug that there had not been any negotiations with the IMF representatives about a new arrangement.

– The signing of such an arrangement and the potential reform goals within it will be discussed during the upcoming mission – the Ministry of Finance says.

In addition to that topic, the ministry says, there will also be talk about several reform goals which are on the way to being met before the program expires, that is, by January 2021, and there will also be discussion about the current financial situation in the country.

The Head of the IMF Office in Serbia, Sebastian Sosa, stated for Tanjug earlier that the mission would look into the fiscal performances and the key parameters of the 2021 budget.
