Cities through the Balkans are attracting three times more investments with BFCs (Business Friendly Certificates) of business openness.

The data show that the cities which, thanks to Germany's support, have gone through a complex process of certification and created partnerships between the private and the public sector and got the certificate attract three times more investments, the German Organization for International Cooperation GIZ announced.

Zenica, Tuzla, Banjaluka, Veles, Podgorica, Novi Sad and Leskovac are only some of the cities that got BFCs. The network was established with the help of GIZ and the project of the Open Regional Fund – Modernization of Municipal Services.

BFCs open possibilities for developmental partnerships between the private and the public sector, especially through the develoPPP.de program.
