Construction of Biomass Heating Plant Begins in Arilje – Households to Get Woodchip-Based Heating Too
He specified that the preparatory works on the construction of the heating plant were being brought to a close and that the job, as planned, would be completed by December 31, provided the weather conditions allow for it.
– The initial starting date had to be moved because we had to wait for an assessment of the environmental impact of the construction of a woodchip-based heating plant – Vukajlovic told us.
According to Vukajlovic, the biomass-based heating plant is designed for slightly under 2 MW and, initially, two schools, the Health Center, the court building and a kindergarten will be connected to it.
– There are capacities for more connections as well, so there are plans to have a sports hall, as well as some residential buildings, connected to the new heating plant later on – Vukajlovic announced.
The biomass heating plant in Arilje will consist of a woodchip-fueled boiler room and a distribution heating pipeline with heating substations, and the city officials have announced that the savings made from switching from fuel oil and mazut to woodchips will be enormous.
The job is worth RSD 177.5 million, and Belgrade companies IsoPlus, Adriacore, Oden, TVI, Global 100Solutions and Termo Univerzal, Gas Tedz from Indjija and Giles Energie-und Umwelttechnik GmbH & Co KG from Austria.
