Six months from the appearance of coronavirus in Serbia, the eKapija portal is preparing the Special Edition Newsletter “Real Estate and Construction – Future Projects for New Business Opportunities”, where we are exploring how the pandemic has influenced the market, how far the realization of the most important projects has progressed and revealing what's being planned, exclusively from the investors.

The statistics show that the construction sector has not stopped and that, despite an initial halt, there's an increased demand in the segment of residential real estate and in the segment of commercial real estate. More than 62,000 construction sites are active, 16,000 more than in the same period last year, and the demand for labor force is constant. In the second quarter of 2020, the number of employees is higher by 10% than a year before. According to the data of the National Employment Service, there's the most demand for workers in the construction sector. In the current situation, in addition to IT workers, doctors and medical staff, the ones who are able to find the job most easily are also building engineers, mechanical engineers and construction workers.

In the first seven months of 2020, despite the ongoing pandemic, 10,846 building permits were issued, a number comparable to that from 2019, when 11,101 building permits were issued in the same period. Residential buildings are still built the most, and the total area covered by the issued building permits since the beginning of the year exceeds 1,000,000 m2.

Smart buildings, towers, condominiums, modern business spaces, shopping malls, retail parks, industrial real estate, but also new software and tools facilitating the operations at construction sites, have found their place in the new Special Edition Newsletter. Furthermore, we will present modern construction materials, which, in addition to saving time and money, enable construction in line with the latest demands of green building and energy efficiency, and we will also pay attention to the current trends in architecture.

Among others, the following companies will present their products, services, solutions and projects: Belgrade Waterfront, CBS International, Xella, Novaston, Delta Real Estate, Paunov dom, NEPI Rockcastle, CTP Invest, Galens Invest, Wienerberger, Montex Development, Elixir Group, PlanRadar, Finvest and others.

The Special Edition Newsletter “Real Estate and Construction – Future Projects for New Business Opportunities”, which eKapija is preparing in cooperation with the Belgrade Waterfront company, will be published on September 24, 2020.
