Huawei has opened an Innovations and Development Centre in its headquarters in Belgrade on Monday, September 14 in the presence of the Serbian Prime Minister Ana Brnabic and the Chinese Ambassador to Serbia Chen Bo.

Answering to press questions about how certain points of the Washington agreement could contravene cooperation with Huawei, Brnabic said that Serbia was not interested in unreliable technologies either and that on the contrary, it was in the interest of the tender for the introduction of the 5G network to be open and transparent, while respecting international standards.

Brnabic added that she discusses this with Huawei representatives and that they were on the same page about having open and transparent tendering procedure when the time comes for the introduction of the 5G network.

Chen Bo said that the overall strategic partnership between Serbia and China is in constant development and that the cooperation in these sector led to great and fruitful outcomes contributing to economic development of both countries and bringing actual benefits to its citizens.
