Prices of goods and services used for personal consumptions in August 2020, compared to July 2020 decreased by 0.1% on average, the Statistical Office of the Republic of Serbia stated.

Consumer prices in August 2020 increased by 1.9%, compared to August 2019 whereas consumer prices increased by 1.5% on average, compared to December 2019.

When it comes to major groups of products and services per consuming purpose, August 2020 saw the price decrease in the following groups - Food and non-alcoholic beverages (-1.4%), Clothing and footwear (-1.0%) and Communication (-0.3%). Increase of prices was recorded in the groups Recreation and culture (3.3%), Transport (1.1%), Furnishings, household equipment and routine maintenance of the house (0.3%) and in the groups Alcoholic beverages and tobacco, Health and Education (each by 0.2%). Increase of prices was also noted in the group Restaurants and hotels (0.1%).


Prices of other goods and services mostly remained unchanged.
